Let’s face it. There is no single health topic more vital than your heart. It is the very essence of who we are as humans. Without a healthy working heart, life becomes far more difficult and may cease to exist at all.
Your heart beats and pumps blood automatically, it isn’t a function we need to think about in order for it to happen. Many of us don’t think about our hearts often at all. They become a focus only when we start to feel like something may be off, or not quite right. We know our bodies well and feelings are our Indicator. It is important to listen to them.
Signs your heart may be calling for help
Gum issues – bleeding, swelling, or soreness
Snoring
Sleep apnea
Coughing
Dizziness
Fatigue
Lack of appetite
Swollen legs or feet
Nausea
Chest pain
Difficulty breathing
Chest pressure
Pain in the left arm
Fainting
If you are experiencing any of these don’t hesitate to go get checked out. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
What your doctor may do to try and help diagnose the issue you are having:
They may perform an ECG (Electrocardiogram)
Use Holter Monitoring
Perform an Echocardiogram
Have you take a stress test
Use Cardiac catheterization
A CT Scan (Cardiac Computerized Tomography)
Perform an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan
Once testing needed is performed Cardiologists are able to rule out and pinpoint the cause or causes of your distress. With a diagnosis, they are then able to recommend the best course of treatment to get you up to optimal levels and feeling like yourself again.
